As the festive period and the end of 2015 approaches we have afforded ourselves some time to look back at the year’s highlights for Oceanskies and Oceanskies Crew.

Oceanskies is on track to register our 200th vessel since our launch and 2015 has seen us register yachts of all sizes from a J-122 sailing yacht to a 70 metre plus superyacht constructed by a leading German shipyard.

Our yacht registration expertise continues to be valued and in February we were invited to speak on that subject at the 15th Azimut Benetti Yachtmaster event held in Tuscany, Italy. This excellent event fitted in well with our ethos of providing support to yards and dealers/brokers to help and assist with any client queries.

Tonnage surveys, either as a stand alone service or as part of our yacht registration service, have kept Oceanskies busy with travel this year with visits to Denmark, France, Germany, Holland, Italy, Montenegro, Malta Spain, Sweden, Tunisia and UK.

Our 'Malta yacht leasing season' started early in March with a Sunseeker 30 Metre yacht being the first of over twenty yachts personally welcomed by Oceanskies to Malta during the year.

Another success has been the growth of our dedicated concierge service designed to encourage and welcome superyacht visitors to Guernsey. One very notable visitor amongst over twenty visiting superyachts this season was the new build 92 metre Feadship "Royal Romance" which quite literally brought St. Peter Port to a standstill whilst being refuelled by Boatworks+ (contact direct for bulk fuel pricing).

From an aviation perspective Oceanskies has also been busy with a number of registrations, importations and offshore closings being performed.

Oceanskies Crew, our dedicated payroll outsourcing agency, has continued to grow and a major milestone was celebrated in August with the signing of their sixtieth yacht a 45 metre new build Dutch sailing yacht with eight crew which we hope to soon welcome to St. Peter Port in Guernsey.

Oceanskies Crew also launched a successful partnership with Standard Bank Isle of Man to provide banking facilities for yacht crew through a dedicated online portal.

For 2016 we hope to improve on all those records and we are always looking to expand our horizons, for example we have just returned from the Caribbean where we attended the Antigua Charter Show, a new show for Oceanskies.

To provide capacity to develop and grow Oceanskies next year we are pleased to announce the appointment of Ryan Fallaize as the latest member of our team here in Guernsey. Ryan is working with Duncan in support of our yacht registration and documentation services as well as running point on our local concierge services for visiting superyachts.

With the Oceanskies team now numbering five and looking set to grow next year December has seen us doubling the size of our offices located at the fuel berth in the heart of St. Peter Port Harbour.

Instead of sending Christmas cards we are making a donation to the Channel Islands Air Search appeal raising funds for the purchase and operation of a new Guernsey based aircraft. The Channel Islands Air Search is a voluntary service providing a rapid response airborne search and rescue service in Channel Island waters.

We look forward to an active and busy 2016 for the entire marine and aviation industries and wish you a very Merry Christmas and a happy, healthy and rewarding New Year.
