The role of a representative person or resident agent is to provide a local link between a yacht owner and their chosen yacht registry jurisdiction where the owner might not be a resident of, or if a company, incorporated in, the flag state.
We charge the following fees for acting as representative person:
Guernsey
A Guernsey based Representative Person must be appointed for Guernsey yacht registration purposes where the owner, if a person, is not resident, or if a company, not incorporated in the Bailiwick of Guernsey in cases where vessel length is greater than 24 metres in loadline length.
We charge a one-off fee of £250.00 to provide a Guernsey Representative Person for the 10-year lifetime of the vessel’s Certificate of British Registry or, if sooner, until the vessel is sold.
Jersey
A Jersey based Representative Person must be appointed for Jersey yacht registration purposes where the owner, if a person, is not resident, or if a company, not incorporated in Jersey.
We charge a one-off fee of £500.00 to provide a Jersey Representative Person for the 10-year lifetime of the vessel’s Certificate of British Registry or, if sooner, until the vessel is sold.
Malta (Valletta)
A Malta based Resident Agent must be appointed for Malta yacht registration purposes where the owner, if a person, is not resident, or if a company, not incorporated in Malta..
We charge EUR 500.00 per annum to provide a Malta Resident Agent.
The fee includes the administration of annual renewal fees for the vessel’s registration and radio licence.
United Kingdom (London and all other UK ports of registry)
A UK based Representative Person must be appointed for UK yacht registration purposes where the owner, if a person, is not resident, or if a company, not incorporated in UK.
We charge a one-off fee of £300.00 to provide a UK Representative Person for the 5-year lifetime of the vessel’s Certificate of British Registry or, if sooner, until the vessel is sold.
