Thriving yacht crew is vital to the success of the yachting industry. ISWAN’s YachtCrewHelp Project forms part of the support network which is there to make sure this is possible. 

At Oceanskies we're proud to support ISWAN’s YachtCrewHelp Project. Employing thousands of crew around the world, we recognise that everyone should have access to help whenever it may be needed. YachtCrewHelp provide multilingual services 24 hours a day, 365 days a year in a variety of formats which is needed when combating issues experienced onboard yachts worldwide. 

We’re delighted to share that getting in contact has just been made even easier through our CrewMate app. Crew are now able to start a live chat directly through CrewMate, the app in which all of their employment data is stored. We hope that with the increased ease of access more crew will feel able to receive help when they need to. 

What is YachtCrewHelp Project?

This project offers free & confidential support to those in Yachting, whether you currently have a role onboard a vessel or not. There isn’t an issue experienced in the industry which couldn’t be taken to YachtCrewHelp to seek support or advice. Whether crew are struggling with abuse, contractual issues, discrimination, or unpaid wages we’d advise them to reach out, the ISWAN team is always around to help. This is not an exhaustive list of reasons to seek help, there are so many other issues which can be addressed. Assistance that works for yacht crew is available at the click of a button in whatever method is most suitable for them. Crew have the chance to benefit from live online chat with a member of the team, if they’d prefer an in-person approach there are tools to help locate the nearest seafarer centre facilities. Crew can receive help on their terms! Other forms of contact available with YachtCrewHelp are email, WhatsApp messaging or a phone call. 

As an employer we’ve referred countless seafarers towards the service, frequently encouraging the use of this valuable resource. We strongly believe that it can make a difference when seafarers need it most and have been working hard to find more ways for it to be accessible to all.
