Europe Approves Night and IMC Single Engine Commercial Operations

Oceanskies is very pleased to announce that the European Union have today passed Commercial Air Transport (CAT) operations using Single-Engine Turbine aeroplanes at night or in Instrument Meteorological Conditions (SET-IMC).

The operations take effect today with publication in the EU’s Official Journal under Commission Regulation (EU) 2017/363.

A copy of the regulations can be downloaded here from this website:

COMMISSION REGULATION (EU) 2017/363

The introduction of the new regulation marks the end of a twenty year effort by industry and regulators.

Europe is now aligned with the International Civil Aviation Organisation’s (ICAO) standards for CAT operations.

Oceanskies already has experience of registering single engined turbine corporate aircraft such as the Pilatus PC12 on the UK Civil Aviation Authority G- aircraft register and we would be happy to discuss potential commercial charter activity opportunities under the new regulation with aircraft owners and operators.

Our offices in Guernsey and Malta and our partnerships with licensed corporate providers and accountants in key aircraft ownership jurisdictions such as the UK, Isle of Man and Malta enable us to facilitate the provision of aircraft charter packages.

Typically qualifying aircraft will be leased to and/or operated by third party holders of an EU Air Operator's Certificate (AOC) who in turn are able to operate aircraft for hire and reward (i.e. third party charter and other commercial activities) within the EU.
