Oceanskies is delighted to be finishing their first year in business on a high by moving into the Boatworks+ building located in the heart of the bustling yachting haven of St. Peter Port harbour in Guernsey.

Boatworks+ is the only boatyard in St. Peter Port harbour and has a slipway capable of lifting yachts up to 50 tonnes for emergency repairs and general vessel maintenance. They also operate the main fuelling berth providing duty-free diesel to all yachts regardless of whether they are commercial or private yachts on the basis that all diesel in Guernsey is duty-free when sold and used for marine purposes. The fuel berth is located alongside the new offices of Oceanskies and is capable of accommodating yachts up to approximately 60 metres in length. Larger yachts can also usually be accommodated in the commercial area of the harbour.

Since launching in January 2013 Oceanskies has enjoyed a busy twelve months having established a portfolio of over forty client yachts complemented by a growing number of private jets. Duncan Swanson of Oceanskies said, "in addition to our yacht registration only services our Malta yacht leasing and EU Temporary Admission turn-key ownership and registration packages have been particularly popular as they provide clients with low cost fixed fee certainty combined with high level of client focussed service."

The company has during the course of the year also launched its own offshore crew employment and payroll company, Oceanskies Crew Limited, which is experiencing significant growth. Tom Becker of Oceanskies said, "designing  and creating an MLC compliant offshore crew employment and payroll company from scratch was challenging but the speed in which we then obtained MLC certification by Lloyd's Register was particularly rewarding".

By moving into a harbour side location Oceanskies is also hoping to grow the number of visiting superyachts to Guernsey next year. So far in 2013 Oceanskies acting as local yacht agents have welcomed seven visiting superyachts  to Guernsey and the company has been working hard to actively marketing the island as destination for large yachts at various boat shows around the world including Cannes, Southampton and Monaco.

Looking ahead to 2014 Oceanskies seems already set for a busy year. Duncan Swanson said, "in January we go straight into the London and then Düsseldorf Boat Shows which represent two of our most important shows of the year where we hope to meet both new and existing clients as well as friends and colleagues form the marine industry."

In January Oceanskies will also be formally launching their own web-based yacht documentation support system branded as Support4yachts.com. Adrian Ogier of Oceanskies said, "Quite simply we believe this is going to be a game changer in the way that yachts are documented. The web-based application will not only act as a secure online drop box for a particular yacht but it will also provide a full menu of real-time safety management and compliance documentation that can be shared between the captain, client and, where applicable, the yacht's manager".

The final month of the calendar year has also seen Guernsey launch its own aircraft register targeting the private, corporate and business aviation markets. As a company specialising in the registration of such aircraft the launch of the register could not come at a better time. Duncan Swanson said. "Having been promoters and users of the popular Isle of Man and Maltese aircraft registers we are really pleased that we can add a new register to our portfolio that is based on our home island."

The new address and telephone number of Oceanskies Limited and Oceanskies Crew Limited is as follows:

Castle Emplacement

St. Peter Port

Guernsey GY1 1AU

Channel Islands

Great Britain

T: +44 1481 711994

By way of final word Oceanskies is keen to thank everybody who has supported us in our first year of operation. On behalf of the whole team Duncan Swanson said, "A big thank you goes firstly to our clients who have shown faith and trust in us as a newly formed business and secondly to our colleagues and friends within the marine, aviation, legal, accountancy, finance and trust industries who have referred and introduced business to us. Lastly but not least we thank  our families for their support and for them putting up with some very long hours. We look forward to an active and busy 2014 for the entire yacht and aircraft business and wish everybody a very Merry Christmas and a happy, healthy and rewarding New Year. "
