Oceanskies were pleased to welcome the arrival of a Bombardier 605 Challenger business jet to Guernsey airport this week.
The Bombardier Challenger 605 aircraft is one of the world's best-selling large cabin business jets. Delivering superior strength, versatility and reliability, these powerful jets have the ability to fly long range transcontinental business missions.
The aircraft arrived from the United Kingdom holding a Middle Eastern registration and departed to Malta holding a Maltese registration following an ownership transfer and de-registration process whilst on the ground in Guernsey.
Guernsey was chosen as the closing location for the transfer of the aircraft because of its unique fiscal status and geographical location.
Oceanskies are a Guernsey based consultancy business specialisinbg in the registration and documentation of yachts and aircraft. Duncan Swanson of Oceanskies said, "we are actively promoting Guernsey as a sensible tax neutral jurisdiction to undertake certain aircraft sale and purchase transactions." "The completion of recent airport development work including the resurfacing of the runway and the provision of new parking areas for business aircraft combined with excellent handling and support services makes the island an ideal choice."
On leaving Guernsey as a Maltese registered aircraft it became the latest entrant on the fastest growing aircraft register for business aircraft being operated for charter under a European Air Operator's Certificate (AOC).
Duncan Swanson of Oceanskies commented, "Malta provides an efficient onshore  EU based regulatory framework for the registration and operation of aircraft combined with a favourable taxation environment."
