Oceanskies was pleased to welcome the 143ft  superyacht “Juliet†to Guernsey earlier this week.
This iconic yacht looks as good today as when she was built just over twenty years ago. When launched in 1993 this ketch was considered by many to be a pioneering masterpiece with the original owner working closely with its builder, the Royal Huisman shipyard in the Netherlands, naval architect Peter Beeldsnijder and designer Ron Holland to perfect his vision.
Fresh from overhaul with its original builder in Holland, the yacht made an impressive sight anchored for two nights in Havelet bay to the South of St. Peter Port before heading to the Caribbean for the winter season.
“Juliet†is the sixth superyacht to be handled by Oceanskies acting as yacht agents in Guernsey this year. Since launching in January Oceanskies has been working hard to attract more superyachts to Channel Islands  we have been actively marketing the islands as destination for large yachts at various boatshows around the world including Cannes, Southampton and Monaco.
Duncan Swanson of Oceanskies believes that the Channel Islands have a lot to offer superyachts, their owners and crew saying, “Guernsey has always been a popular stop over for yachts clearing in and out of the VAT territory of the EU and for cheap fuelâ€. Duncan added, “we are actively not only promoting the islands as a place to make technical stops but increasingly we are seeing more superyachts visiting with guests onboard as there is a growing trend to leave the traditional cruising grounds of the Mediterranean to explore new areas.â€
Adrian Ogier of Oceanskies said “The visit of these large yachts can not only be a good thing for the economy of the Channel Islands but also their reputation as a destination for high net worth individuals and we hope to attract more to the islands in the future.â€
Oceanskies has just moved into new offices located in the hear of St. Peter Port harbour inside the Boatworks+ building alongside the main yacht refuelling berth. Yachts up to 50 metres in length can be accommodated on the fuel berth outside our window.
