The US government shutdown is having a direct effect on the worldwide business and private aviation industry as a result of the FAA Civil Aircraft Registry having been closed as a non-essential service.
The shutdown effectively paralyses the ability of the industry to deliver newly built aircraft under US registration and to close out transactions involving the sale of US registered aircraft or aircraft wishing to join the US register from a foreign jurisdiction following purchase.
It is not known at the time of writing how long the shutdown will last but we here at Oceanskies have already started to receive enquiries from parties to aircraft delivery and sale transactions who are keen to explore the possibility of utilising the Isle of Man register as an alternative to the US registration system in an effort to keep to pre-planned delivery schedules.

As always we are happy to welcome enquiries from anybody who is considering the Isle of Man aircraft registry as a potential option for their aircraft.
