Do you have a boat registration certificate issued by the State of Delaware Division of Fish & Wildlife?
Are you unable to renew this registration as your boat is not being operated, docked or stowed in the State of Delaware?
Maybe you’re looking for a new flag but cannot decide which is the most cost effective and has the easiest process?
Here at Oceanskies we have been warning yacht owners of the risk of being incorrectly sold a State of Delaware registration for over 10-years. You can find our full original guide on the subject here.
The State of Delaware registration has been incorrectly used in various jurisdictions but is most common in the Eastern Mediterranean in particular Turkey, Lebanon, Israel and Egypt.
Since January 2020 the State of Delaware have been trying to deter the abuse of its boat registration system. However, it was the change of law in March 2023 whereby the Division of Fish & Wildlife announced that they will no longer renew any boat registrations where the owner is unable to provide proof that the vessel is primarily kept in the State of Delaware.
This change unsurprisingly left a significant amount of boats in a position whereby they will be without a registration in the near future which would inevitably lead to operational, tax, insurance and financial complications.
Since March 2023 we have received huge volumes of enquiries from boat owners requiring registration assistance. We have seen the majority of owners decide to go with a UK MCA Part 1 registration. But why?
Oceanskies are pleased to offer a one-off fixed fee registration service for any boat looking at re-registering under the UK flag, we include:
Not only are our fees competitive but we are constantly active in the Eastern Mediterranean and on hand to ensure fast turnaround times.
