Condition & Pre-Purchase

A condition survey can be an important tool in the negotiation when buying or selling a vessel

Condition & Pre-Purchase

A condition or pre-purchase survey results in a comprehensive report on the vessels overall condition not only emphasising on the vessel’s critical components but also on finer cosmetic details and fittings. A vessel may appear well maintained but it is the role of the Surveyor to investigate fully and inform the customer of any present defects and any defects which are likely to occur in the future.

We offer as standard a fully comprehensive condition survey service but can also offer tailored condition surveys to suit individual requirements. It is always recommended that the vessel is surveyed out of the water when the areas below the hull are dry and cleaned back. As a minimum our survey will include inspections of the overall structure, machinery, electrical installations, water systems, domestic installations and emergency items. We can on request also undertake sea trial witnessing where we can assess equipment while operating and the overall handling performance of the vessel while underway at varying speeds doing various manoeuvres.
