Malta Yacht Registration – Pricing (in GBP Sterling)

For any private yacht lying within EU waters under 24 metres in length overall Oceanskies are pleased to offer the following fixed fee Malta private yacht registration service to provide a fast provisional registration valid for six months, the provision of a permanent Certificate of Malta Registry valid for one year and its renewal in second and third years:

  • Full management of vessel’s registration in Malta at the port of Valletta
  • Appointment and provision of Oceanskies (Malta) Limited as Malta resident agent for three years
  • Liaison with Transport Malta on behalf of owner
  • Approval and reservation of vessel name
  • Liaison with builder and dealer to obtain legal title including the drafting of vessel’s Builder’s Certificate and, where necessary, Bill(s) of Sale
  • Drafting and obtaining necessary documentation from owner
  • Tonnage Measurement Survey onboard vessel lying in EU
  • Survey travel, subsistence and disbursements
  • Calculations and Issue of Tonnage Survey Report
  • Issue of Tonnage Certificate
  • Obtaining provisional registration issued by Transport Malta in the name of owner valid for 6 months
  • Assistance with Carving & Marking formalities
  • Radio licence application
  • Provision of Certificate of Malta Registry
  • Provision of vessel radio licence allocating vessel call sign and MMSI number (if applicable)
  • Transport Malta registry fees and annual tonnage fees for provisional, full registration and renewal of full registration in second and third years
  • Courier of title documents to registry and courier of provisional, final registration pack and renewed certificates in second and third years to client
  • Provision of Malta flag (3’X2’) & plastic tonnage plate
  • Disbursements



We can on request provide a fixed fee Malta yacht registration service for private yachts under 24 metres in length overall lying outside the EU, private yachts over 24 metres in length overall and commercial yachts of all sizes.

Yachts that will be operated for charter must be registered as a commercial vessel. To be eligible for commercial registration the vessel must hold a valid certificate confirming compliance with the Malta Commercial Yacht Code. Fees do not include the costs of commercial compliance or the provision of a compliance certificate.

Fees do not include any radio surveys that might be necessary for Malta registration depending on vessel equipment fit – any radio survey fees would be passed on at cost.

Fees do not include any charges for any translations that might be required where vessel documentation is not in English. When applicable any translation charges are itemised and passed on at cost without mark-up.
