What is required to register a yacht?

All yachts sailing internationally must be registered and carry officially issued documents as proof of registration to ensure they’re compliant with the International Convention on the Law of the Sea, 1982.

Below are the standard requirements for full or initial yacht registration:

  • Ownership Due Diligence (KYC)
  • Preferred Vessel Name
  • Title Documents (Builder’s Certificate, Bills of Sale, etc.)
  • Technical Documents (CE Certification, Specification, etc.)
  • Tonnage Certificate or equivalent (we can assist with surveys)
  • Deletion Certificate (if previously registered under another flag)
  • Commercial Certification (if applicable)
  • Classification Certification (if applicable)
