What aircraft can be registered in Guernsey?
The following aircraft can be accepted onto the Guernsey aircraft register:
- Aircraft based in the Bailiwicks of Guernsey or Jersey being any aeroplane or helicopter with a Maximum Take-off Mass exceeding 750 kg and not amateur built, ex-military or vintage.
- Aircraft not based in the Bailiwicks of Guernsey or Jersey being any turbine powered aeroplane with a Maximum Take-off Mass exceeding 2,700 kg or any turbine powered helicopter.
The operation of any Guernsey registered aircraft for commercial use is prohibited meaning that they are not allowed to conduct Public Transport and/or Commercial Air Transport and/or aerial work flights.
What is the eligibility criteria to gain access to the Guernsey aircraft register?
The eligibility criteria is wide in scope and designed particularly to encourage international ownership of aircraft.
For example, European citizens and companies are able to qualify for the registration of their aircraft in their own name directly.
What are the aircraft registration markings for a Guernsey registered aircraft?
The Guernsey aircraft registration prefix nationality mark is ‘2’ followed by a hyphen and four characters, i.e. 2-HIGH, 2-MUCH, 2-MANY.
